She had won every State Championship she entered since 2000. She captured and defended Six State Titles, compiling an incredible State won-lost record of 42-1, and posting some of the highest ringer averages of any woman pitcher in Texas history. For years Debra Odum seemed invincible. For her amazing pitching prowess and accomplishments, she was enshrined in the prestigious THPA Hall of Fame - ironically on the eve before what would prove to be her downfall.
Veteran Bob McCharen, who has witnessed all the great ones, put the odds at 80% that she would win her seventh State Title in 2007. Some even felt those odds were too low.
