P                                                                                   Presidents Message
                                        May 15, 2009

It is good to see the new members on our roster.  We are so glad you
have joined our organization and look forward to having you
participate in our tournaments/events.

You will notice there is a total re-write of the THPA By-laws submitted
for your vote in October. The Advisory/Rules Committee obtained
proposals and verbal input from many members regarding our By-
laws. They have thoroughly discussed and thought through all of
the input to come up with a document that is simplified and good
for THPA as an entire organization.

 

There are three major changes in the re-write.

 

1.)   Voting:   A confidential number will be assigned to each member

when they pay their dues.  That number will have to be on the ballot in

order to be counted. The voting will be by mail ballot only.

 

2.)   The rotation and selection of host clubs for all State Sponsored Tournaments. 

         

3.)   There will be a $5.00 charge for each member that wishes to receive the Ringer.  This charge will offset

the increased expenses of printing the Ringer. If you have a family of four, only one member of that family

would pay the additional $5.00 for the entire family. If you are rooming with another member and each of

you wants to receive your individual copy of the Ringer, each of the members would pay the additional

charge.

 

Items that are in our By-laws that are also in the NHPA By-laws & RGS book were removed. There is not

a need to have items in two documents that rule our sport.

Another reminder to our members:  Be sure to check the photos of our tournaments on the website.

Go to the schedule, click on the tournament you want to view...click on photos.  If no photos were

submitted for a tournament, it will not have the photo link.
