Jury of Appeal
The Texas Ringer will appoint a three-person Jury of Appeal prior to the start of competition. The Jury exists to provide a fair and impartial review when an archer, parent/guardian, coach, or team representative believes a tournament rule has been incorrectly applied or a decision has unfairly affected an archer.
Filing an Appeal
Cost: $50 cash for an appeal (refundable if overturned)
An appeal must be submitted to the Chair of Judges or Tournament Director as soon as reasonably possible after the decision or incident being appealed.
If the appeal could affect an archer advancing to the next round, elimination match, Lucky Ringer, Final 8, or any other stage of competition, the intent to appeal must be made before the next applicable round or match begins.
The appeal must clearly identify:
-
The decision or incident being appealed
-
The individuals involved
-
The reason for the appeal
-
The Texas Ringer rule believed to have been incorrectly applied, when applicable
Jury
The Jury of Appeal will consist of three individuals who are knowledgeable about archery and the Texas Ringer rules and who can evaluate the appeal fairly and impartially.
A Jury member who has an actual or perceived conflict of interest involving the archer, coach, family, or circumstances of the appeal must recuse themselves. An alternate Jury member may be appointed by the Tournament Director or Chair of Judges.
Jury Decision
The Jury may speak with the appellant, judges, tournament officials, witnesses, or other individuals necessary to understand the circumstances of the appeal.
The Jury will review the applicable Texas Ringer rules and the facts surrounding the incident and will make a decision by majority vote.
The decision of the Jury of Appeal is final.
Any awards, payouts, advancement, or tournament results directly affected by an appeal may be withheld until the Jury has issued its decision.
Limits of Appeal
A Jury of Appeal is intended to review the application or interpretation of tournament rules and other protestable decisions.
A judge's determination is final and is not subject to appeal.
The Jury may not create or modify a Texas Ringer rule during an appeal. Its responsibility is to determine whether the rules in effect for the competition were correctly and fairly applied.

-
The 6 will be an arrow that touches the blue line around the center area.

-
An archer who shoots more than five arrows at the target will lose the arrows of higher value in that end. A penalty of one point is assessed for each arrow shot over the prescribed number of arrows. The penalty point comes only after the extra arrow/arrows are shot.
